Located 6 miles southwest of Downtown Boston, Roslindale is a 4.6 square mile neighborhood of Boston composed of attractive, and predominantly owner occupied, one and two family homes.

Over the past few years, Roslindale has witnessed a re-birth of its local shopping district – Roslindale Village – through the Main Street program, a partnership of local business people and the National Trust for Historical Preservation.  Among the convenience and specialty shops here, some of the best area restaurants and bakeries can be found offering a diverse selection of ethnic specialties.

Roslindale has also welcomed the relocation of the Boston School of Modern Languages campus, and the contingent of the international students who come to Boston to study.  Many of the community residents have opted to study a new language there, while taking in cultural programs offered by the school.

Naturalists are attracted by the beautifully landscaped Arnold Arboretum where over 6,000 species of plants, flowers, and trees can be explored.  Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the country’s first landscape architect, the Arnold Arboretum is a National Historic Landmark.

Golf enthusiasts enjoy playing at the Donald Ross designed George Wright Golf Course.  It is a venerable bent grass course with inviting, mature tree-lined fairways, where the particular small greens demand carefully executed approach shots. It has been said that few courses in America can match the beauty and natural grandeur of George Wright.
